The "Grander Trophy Release" was produced in Panama at the Ingenio San Carlos distillery. It was distilled from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 15 years. The rum has an ABV of 55,2%. Panama is my favorite country when it comes to producing sweet Latin styled rum. The quite high ABV makes it quite similar to Malecon, but it doesn’t reach the Malecon level fully. The high ABV balance the sweetness well. Without the high ABV I’ve probably rated it just 4 or 5.
Very compley high proof rum.
One of the better column still sipping rums. Tastes like banana bread bomb with caramel, mint, tobacco, etc…
