The "Cask Collection Shinanoya HTR" was produced in Trinidad at the Caroni distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler A.D. Rattray. It was distilled in 1997 from Molasses and then aged for 20 years. The rum has an ABV of 63,2% and the mark is HTR. This is a limited release and there are only 246 bottles. 15 community members rated this rum with an average of 8.8/10. The rum smells like Tar, Dark chocolate and Musty, and on the palate there is Oily, Burnt sugar and Molasses.

Tasted at the incredible Rum Bar Room in Tokyo (September 2024). Chose to end my night with 3 Caroni rums, side by side. The nose had rubber, petrol, chocolate, a sweetness best described as nougat, tar - not an in your face Caroni on the nose but still had the notes one would expect. On the palate the petrol, rubber, dark chocolate return along with oak giving a more bitter quality. There is a greener, vegetal note in here as well. Least favourite of the Caroni rums sampled on this night but still great.
