The "S.B.S Panama 2014 (Kenth Eriksson)" was produced in Panama at the Varela Hermanos distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler 1423 World Class Spirits. It was distilled in 2014 from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 10 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 50%. Nose is fairly alcohol forward but with clear sweet and woody notes. Leaving the glass for a while I can detect caramel/maple syrup like smells and subtle tones of herbs. Taste is dominated by alcohol, barrel and sweet undertones. The nose of the empty glass is quite complex and pleasant with fruity, sweet and herby notes. Probably the best part of the rum.
