"A visit to the Takamaka distillery is worthwhile! During the pandemic, the distillery has built up a second mainstay alongside its high-quality pot still made from fresh sugar cane juice from the Seychelles in very small quantities with a triple column still that works with molasses from abroad (Mauritius). This enables continuous production in large quantities, serving the cocktail and beginner segment. Triple distillation produces a very neutral rum, which is then flavored with aromas (e.g. fruit essences, cinnamon, vanilla, sometimes also with coloring and sugar). This is also the case with this rum liqueur, which cannot really be considered rum. The new segment helps the distillery financially, but it does not produce a quality rum."
