Last Drop Distillers Very Old Jamaica Rum
The "Very Old Jamaica Rum" was produced in Jamaica. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Last Drop Distillers. It was distilled in 1976 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 43 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 68,5%. #5337 19.11.2023 Enjoying this nice sample that was a birthday present to myself from myself. Old tasting that I have forgotten to add, luckily I still have everything on paper. I should have bought a bottle back then seeing the price now. Nose Medium intense, wood, light roasted, faint smoke, light varnish, light coconut, spice, pineapple. Palate Oily, medium intense, balanced, wood, light roasted, light cherry, faint coffee, light banana, spice, fruity, light caramel. Finish Long, wood, fruits, faint floral, faint coffee, pineapple, light caramel. Note Incredible balance of ABV and wood. Especially the wood is a surprise because I'd expected a very woody Palate and finish.
Partage des bouteilles lors du FRS x RRS en Jamaïque, 2023. La bouteille 113 sur 183 a été dégustée. Reposé pendant 3,5 heures avant d'être dégusté. Arôme de torréfaction chaude et boisée. Goût de fumée, de chêne et d'écorce d'orange, les fruits tropicaux étant relégués au second plan. Alcool modéré. Finale exceptionnellement longue de tabac et de cuir. Un résidu trouble est resté dans le verre.
Amazing 1976 jamaican rum, the taste and aromas is incredible. The finish is very, very looong.
