Velier Arawaks Clairin Ansyen Vaval
The "Clairin Ansyen Vaval" was produced in Haiti at the Arawaks distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Velier. It was distilled in 2016 from Sugar cane juice with a Pot Still and then aged for 1 years 9mo. The rum has an ABV of 48,6%. 12 community members rated this rum with an average of 7.8/10. The rum smells like Vegetal, Floral and Buttery, and on the palate there is Floral, Sour and Vegetal.

Die buttrige Nase schmilzt auch auf See Zunge noch dahin. Schöne Zitrone in einem eleganten, floralen Bett bringt den Gaumen zum Tanzen. Im Abgang kommt etwas überraschend der Tod (sehr modrig) mir gefällt das Geschmacksspiel aber.
It stinks :-) I'm an absolute Clairin fanatic, but this one crossed the line a little. A little gamy, meaty and musty on the nose, but also typically Clairin. On the tongue, the expected Clairin and (here it comes) a slight smoky note in the topping. Can, but doesn't have to. One of the weaker Clairins.
Weirdly less "Caroni" than the 19m old, there's not much of it there. Very fresh Agricole. Good..like most Clairins. Very drinkable. All layers are subtle except the grassy freshness.
It took me some time to appreciate this one and feel the Caroni's cask influence! Anyway i prefer the Raw material than those hyped Clairins!
