07.2024 First impression: weak-breasted Jamaican Nose: a little banana, faint hint of esters, otherwise thin Palate: first alcoholic, then less impressive standards such as wood/roast and vanilla aromas Finish: medium-long, masked by alcoholic spiciness Overall impression: too simple to sip neat, lacking character even in mixers, no off-flavors but nothing that I would remember either Conclusion: unfortunately dispensable 2020?
Beautiful Jamaican rum for mixing, which doesn't have to hide on its own either. For me, one of the best rums for the classic rum cola. Fruitier than the classic Havanas or similar, not quite as complex as a Smith & Cross, for example. Simply a pleasant companion for a nice evening. The quality corresponds to that of its predecessor, the Appleton Special.
