"Pricey bottle. Though I took the risk because of the Samaroli name. This is a sweet rum. I've had both sweet and non-sweet Panama (the latter from Berry and Tamosi). I like the non-sweet rums loads better. I'm not sure if this is sweetened or not, but it is quite on the sweet side. Some weirder floral notes too. Flowers. Mocha coffee. Vanilla. Chocolate. Soapy(?). There is stuff and age to discover here, but the caramel hides it. I really really wish it was less sweet. Not a bad rum, but a bit of a let down. Won't buy a Samaroli Panama again any time soon. Retry june 2024: less sweet. More Bourbon/american oak taste. Still not much depth. Especially for it's age. Far from a bad rum but still thrice the price it should be."
"25.09.2021 A friendly tasting with friends and colleagues. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Wood, light roasted, dried fruit, faint melon, light chocolate, light mineral. Palate Light, oily, wood, faint smoke, light ginger, fruits, light mint, light melon, spice, light chocolate. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, faint mint, cinnamon, light ginger, dried fruits."
"Up to this moment I tasted various rums. But once I opened this Samaroli Panama rum, i fell in love. For this me this was exactly how I wanted rum to taste like. Unfortunately, the bottle did not survive long enough to try it again. I am curious if my opinion and grading about it, is still the same after having tasted some more rums."
