Après l'excellent Velier Royal Navy, voici un blend qui s'annonce des plus funky. 👃 Ok, on a plus l'impression d'avoir un blend jamaïcain et hampdenien qu'un assemblage classique de Navy Rum. Ce n'est pas un problème. Arômes de pâtisseries et de beurre qui s'estompent rapidement pour laisser place aux esters, beaucoup d'ananas et de bananes fermentées, de citronnelle, d'huiles essentielles, d'acétone, de vernis, de caoutchouc neuf, de baskets encore dans leur boîte, de cuir synthétique, d'olive en saumure et d'enchoïades. En retrait, fraîcheur mentholée, thé vert et cerise aigre dans un boisé de chêne rôti du plus bel effet. 😋 On retrouve davantage les différentes régions qui font la réputation des Navy Rum. Torréfaction de café et de chocolat premium au piment (Guyana), fraîcheur mentholée (TDL), empyreumatique de goudron chaud et de diesel (Caroni) et ce mix typique d'ananas caramélisé, de vernis, de caoutchouc et d'olive (Hampden). En retrait, amertume d'agrumes surmûris, note de pamplemousse, cerise aigre, fruits tropicaux légers, thé vert. La sensation huileuse et intense est très agréable. ⛳ Longue, chaude, astringente, tannique, sèche. Un lit de fruits tropicaux laisse rapidement place à l'amertume de la noix concassée, du chocolat au piment et de grain de café doux. Fraîcheur de menthe poivrée, eucalyptus qui s'installe durablement sur les parois de la bouche et dans le gosier, thé vert léger. 🏆 Un très bon assemblage avec cette particularité d'avoir les odeurs très axées sur le profil Hampden. La bouche se veut plus en phase avec les différentes origines sélectionnées, Guyane, mais surtout TDL et Caroni. Le Navy Strength lui va comme un gant, l'ABV étant très bien intégré. 🏅 89 > 90, +1pt pour l'approche très Hampden, que j'adore. Un Navy marqué par la Jamaïque mais qui reste cohérent et qui a le mérite de proposer une approche moins classique qu'à l'accoutumée 📝 Note à ajuster plus tard en fonction des autres Navy Rum du lot ; Ricci x RumX et Spiritoftheday. Le Velier Royal Navy est entre 91-92 pour moi. Je recherche aussi les Navy Blend de chez RumClub pour faire le comparatif.
