Habitation Velier Long Pond TECA 2005

Massive tropical fruit explosion with banana and mango, accompanied by vanilla and distinctive ester funk. Spicy wood notes and a hint of tar add depth. On the palate very intense and powerful, yet surprisingly well-balanced and not overwhelming. Long finish with fruits, spice, and a slightly smoky bitterness.

long Pond in Perfektion! meine absolute Referenz in Sachen LP🙏🤤🥭🇯🇲 vollreife Mango & Banane, Karamelll, Mandeln, getrocknete Datteln, im Abgang etwas Kakao, Espresso, Ingwer, Leder und Fass und genial intensive Minze ganz zum Schluss aber dann wieder ummantelt von mango und Mandel. das Ding muss ja wie geschaffen sein für Mai Tais🤤🥭🇯🇲❤️ Hammer! warum hab ich den nicht früher entdeckt?!🙈😓 mir ist es ein absolutes Rätsel wie der andere teca 15y so ein komplett anderes Profil nach gammelfleisch haben kann und der hier einfach so unfassbar lecker fruchtig samtig und ausgewogen ist! 😵🙈 Neue Zusatznote: salt & vinegar chips + bacon + Bananenbrot 🤣liebe es!!

The perfect TECA. Glue, acidity, citrus, varnish and yet a heavy sweetness. Extreme yet balanced. A true firework of aromas. Quite great cinema! 🧪💣

Long Pond at its best - very intense pleasure with abundant fruit, heavy sweetness and a good hint of spicy wood influence. Mouth filling aroma bomb.

Nach dem Öffnen der Flasche verteilt sich sofort ein Frucht-/Ester-/Lösungsmittelduft im Raum ! Im Glas, nach einigem Ruhen, gesellen sich zum ersten Eindruck zarte Vanille-, Marzipan- und Passoinsfruchtaromen dazu… genau meins! Am Gaumen zuerst eine schwere Süße..cremig verteilt sich der Rum , begleitet von tropischen Früchten, jungem Holz/Geäst, Piment und Vanille/Anis! Der Alkohol ist perfekt eingebunden…ich könnte stundenlang darauf herumkauen! Der Abgang ist lang und intensiv nach tropischer Frucht (Passionsfrucht), Kardamon, jungem Holz und leichtem Ester! Ich bin begeistert! Edit: Heute erneut im Blindtasting von Mirco verkostet. Ich babe ihn dabei zuerst mit dem NRJ Teca verwechselt.. das liegt aber daran, dass meine Flasche länger geöffnet ist und der Rum dadurch deutlich smoother wird. Meine Bewertung bleibt

This is a retasting and I stick to my initial score. A great release and thanks to Thunderbird for the sample swap 😊 ----- Wow, this is a really nice rum. The nose is nice and fruity from opening the bottle. The fruityness is wall balanced with spices and of course esters and some polish. The palate matches the nose with its fruitiness and spices. A heavy yet balanced palate with a bit of wood and menthol. The finish is long and fruity with ginger and lugt coffee/barrel.

Day 16 of the Samples de Luxe calendar and tasted again a year and a half later. An almost Guyana nose with brown sugar, leather and varnished wood. Depth, fruit and acidity. The alcohol hits hard but the palate remains perfectly balanced. Vegetal notes emerge, eucalyptus and cut grass. Passion fruit and sandalwood. The finish is as long as one could wish, and the sweetness of this rum becomes even more apparent as the alcohol evaporates, leaving rich, complex aromas in the empty glass. A rich, powerful rum, a success!

Absolute top notch LP release without a doubt. Coming back to this is a joy every time. While the nose is loaded with esters - glue, nail polish and other chemical notes - and lots of punch, the palate - while still extremly intense - provides a very complex and balanced profile playing the whole range across intense fruits, esters, wood, some herbal notes and an unexpected heavy sweetness. This is intense yet balanced and just an excellent high ester rum. Sidenote: from the freshly opened bottle, there is a rather unpleasant bit on the palate. However, this fades after some time and oxidation.

Einfach eine Granate.

Long Pond Teca 2005 is and remains simply the reference for a Tropical Aged Rum for me. Incredibly mature, full-bodied and complex... simply brilliant. As a mixer in Mai Tai a grenade .

Online tasting of various TECA and TECC organized by Mirco. First of all, many thanks for the great split to be able to try them all side by side. Now I had to readjust a few ratings. Tasted Pueblo del Ron 2024 at the fair. Although I already had a sample of it at home, thanks to Serge's advice I couldn't resist having it poured into my glass. At €5 for 2cl, it's now a no-brainer. What a cracker, nothing more needs to be said.

The absolute Long Pond reference for me. Incredibly complex and endless power. Unfortunately, my bottle is running out. One of the best rums I've ever had, even in May Tai. I hope tropically aged TECA rums come along again soon - I love this brand.

Good stuff. Association of a fermented fruit iced tea. Crass nail polish remover. The sun in the glass. Super tasty. A nose to fall in love with, easily over 90 points. In the mouth, however, the acidity is too hefty for me. But that should be personal reference. Overall, an extremely horny drop.

Dégusté après le TECA 2007 NRJ. Le nez est du même acabit mais plus riche et gourmand. C'est ultra funky, fruité, bourré d'esters. En bouche, là aussi, on a les mêmes marqueurs que le 2007 mais la complexité et la gourmandise sont un cran au-dessus. C'est vraiment très bon. La finale est douce et longue, avec une pointe d'acidité. C'est gourmand à souhait malgré la puissance. Ça reste piquant même plusieurs minutes après la dernière gorgée. Une pure merveille. Edit : j'ai sûrement dégusté les 2 derniers cl de ce rhum et j'en ai la larme à l'oeil. Que c'est bon !

Un Long Pond sensationnel, qui débute au nez avec de très belles notes phénoliques, des fruits exotiques en abondance et des notes pâtissières et sucrées très gourmandes, le tout offrant un profil harmonieux et aromatique à souhait. En bouche, on ressent une texture grasse et huileuse qui se marie parfaitement à la gourmandise des fruits, la fraîcheur florale, l’astringence des notes phénoliques et la finesse des épices et du bois. On est sur un rhum très équilibré, d’une grande rondeur et d’une complexité hors du commun. La finale, très longue, prolonge les arômes fruités, épicés et boisés, avec de légères notes torréfiées de café et du caramel. Un rhum extraordinaire, à la limite de l’orgasme olfactif et gustatif.
